When people ask what I love about being an artist, my answer is simple: EVERYTHING. Conceiving a project, working with color and every element of design, reimagining an idea when things didn't go quite as planned, dealing with the craft of making prints - it is all a pleasure and a privilege. Are there frustrations? Sure. But these are pathways, however rocky, to discovery. For me, art is a practice of expression, a practice of a dialog between my mind and my heart, between tools and materials. My mission is a simple one: to create ways for people to see the world as it is or as it might be. Some pieces are images of the world as it is, views of actual things and places. In other pieces, I try to explore how the world might look if we were to tilt aspects that we take for granted. I earned a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Marylhurst University in Portland, Oregon. My focuses were art and psychology. I also trained at University of Northern Colorado and at Front Range Community College. For me, creating these views is both a joy and a privilege. Thank you for visiting this site and thus allowing me to share my work with you. |
